One may think that the Sony Playstation 3 designers were thinking to far into the future. Perhaps they were anticipating that Blu-ray discs were to be the mainstream DVD format at the present. Yes, Blu-ray technology have all the benefits that come with larger capacity DVDs like more realistic games, entire movie trilogies in one DVD, & etc.
However, could the Blu-ray format become mainstream, by then, some people like me may think that the Sony Playstation 3 which costs $500 to $600 now is going to be an outdated cheap Blu-ray DVD player in the future.
