Undercover Spider-goats in Mountain Goat Clothing

For the indulgence of licking and grazing scarce grass and collected minerals these mountain goats (Alpine Ibex goats) in Cingino barrier in Northern Italy clamber up an insanely steep dam wall. Talk about extreme nature sports! This is a seemingly impossible task executed by these clandestine mammals. Given their four-legged and hoofed nature this incredible balance feat by the undercover ‘Spider-goats’ looks even more preposterous – a death defying act. A strong gust of wind later and there would be many a dead mountain goat 160 feet below at the bottom of the dam. Boy these Spider-goats are C-R-A-Z-Z-Y!

"The group of Ibex goats clamber up the almost vertical 160ft-high wall to roll their tongues over the stones.”

“It is thought they enjoy the salt and minerals to be extracted from licking the rocks."-Metro
