“Voyeur” Fad of Social Networking Websites May Pass

Without social networking websites, you would have to connect with internet users, often in chat rooms, and learn about their interests before deciding if you would like to consider them your “buddy.” Social networking sites allow you to learn information about another internet user before ever having to make contact with them. This could be a friend of your friend, or “buddies” of your “buddies” - you know, something viral and fun like browsing a stranger’s photos & posts in a semi-voyeuristic way; all without the need to get to know the person you just “befriended”.

The “voyeur” fad may tend to get boring but for a group of people who actually do know each other, social networking sites are still great for staying in touch, quick status alerts & getting feedbacks. Advertisers & Businesses find them great too and before long, the viral exposure businesses enjoy now might not come free for them anymore.
